Abstract

Sustainable tourism strikes a suitable balance between economic, environmental, and socio cultural elements of tourism growth. In addition to helping to provide revenue, jobs, and the preservation of regional ecosystems; it makes an effort to have as little negative influence as possible in order to protect the local way of life and the environment for future generations. However, there is a problem with tourism nowadays. Its obsession with growth makes achieving environmental goals unfeasible. Also, tourism is estimated to be responsible for 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions; according to a 2018 study published in Nature Climate Change. Among the most well-liked and popular tourist destinations in the country is Himachal Pradesh. The state is well-liked for leisure, religious, cultural and adventure activities and provides a wide range of opportunities to visitors with diverse interests. Over the last ten years, the number of visitors to the state has increased dramatically. Stating the delicate condition of our ecology, it is important that we make sure this expansion is sustained which will boost not only the economy but also preserve and enhance the beauty of the environment. This article focuses on eco tourist spots and eco adventure activities effectively carried in Himachal Pradesh. Also the article mentions how sustainable tourism can be achieved.
