The power sector in India offers a compelling context to explore the scope of ESG disclosures. The country heavily relies on coal, oil, and gas for extensive electrification, making it the world's fourth-largest emitter of pollution, releasing 2.65 billion metric tonnes of carbon into the atmosphere annually. In this paper an attempt has been made to review and analyse the Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reports of Energy sector companies in India. A distinction has also been made in public and private sector companies. Sustainability Reporting Maturity Model released by ICAI has been used to score the companies for the social and environmental indicators reported by them in the BRSR. It was found that although private sector companies are reporting the environmental indicators better, the public sector is leading in reporting social indicators. However, when it comes to overall performance, public sector companies outperform private sector companies.
2024-01-14T10:15:17+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://qtanalytics.in/journals/index.php/VEETHIKA/article/view/3127 Women empowerment and employment since 1947: A bibliometric analysis 2024-02-04T17:25:31+00:00 Madhu Arora profmadhuarora@gmail.com Poonam Khurana profmadhuarora@gmail.com Laxmi Rani profmadhuarora@gmail.com
Women are the backbone of the society, so women empowerment is essential for the development of the nation. The article specifically examines the viability of minimalism in the context of renting wedding attire in India, uncovering a dearth of research in this area. With the concentration of 5-year span (2018–2023) and drawing from the Scopus database, the findings emphasize minimalism's multifaceted impact on consumer behaviour, well-being, and sustainability. The existing literature is not available in the context of renting wedding clothes within the Indian socio-cultural milieu. The study identifies various factors, including socio-economic intricacies, daily effects, and alignment with manufacturing, alongside the innovative "Minimalonomics" model, offering insights into conscious consumption and well-being transformation. While factors like utility, user-friendliness, perspective, and societal pressures affect the adoption of wedding attire rental platforms, consumers prioritizing sustainability exhibit positive correlations with slow fashion, perceived value, purchase intent, willingness to pay a premium, and recommending slow-fashion products. Conversely, considerations like hygiene, perception, societal norms, perceived efficacy, environmental awareness, and personal relevance may sway consumers away from clothing rental services.
2024-03-04T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://qtanalytics.in/journals/index.php/VEETHIKA/article/view/3276 An Investigation on the Use of Electronic Resources by Faculty and Research Scholars of National Law Universities of North India 2024-03-26T16:06:13+00:00 Sonam Singh singh.sonam@nipfp.org.in Manish Kumar kkmaniii2014@gmail.com
The purpose of this study is to examine how research scholars and faculty at National Law Universities of North India use and are aware of electronic resources for legal information. Upgrading of ICT facilities, the acquisition of new databases and e-resources, and the planning of end-user training programs are all ways to improve end-user awareness and utilization of e-resources. The study further highlighted the need for NLUs to maintain a set of guidelines and policies regarding encouraging users to use electronic resources in order to improve usage.

2024-03-20T05:24:53+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://qtanalytics.in/journals/index.php/VEETHIKA/article/view/3234 From Geo-political to Geo-economics: The significance of IMEC for India 2024-04-03T04:56:08+00:00 Sucheta Gauba suchetagauba@lb.du.ac.in Juhi Singh juhisingh@lb.du.ac.in
On the side-lines of the G20 Leaders’ Summit, Leaders of India, European Union, France, Germany, Italy, Saudi Arabia, UAE and US announced an MOU on 9th September 2023 committing to work together to develop a new India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC). The IMEC will comprise of two separate corridors, the east corridor connecting India to the Gulf and northern corridor connecting Gulf to Europe. The corridor will provide reliable and cost-effective cross-border ship to rail transit network to supplement existing maritime routes. It intends to increase efficiency, reduce costs, secure regional supply chains, increase trade accessibility, enhance economic cooperation, generate jobs and lower greenhouse gas emission, resulting in a transformative integration of Asia, Europe and the Middle East (West Asia). This project reflects emerging geopolitical trends as it offers an alternative to China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). BRI is often perceived as a tool for exerting influence and creating debt traps in developing nations. The Indian government’s efforts to strengthen political and strategic ties with the UAE and Saudi Arabia can now be further solidified by creating enduring connectivity between India and the Arabian Peninsula. This initiative dispels the notion that India and the United States may collaborate in the Indo-Pacific but not in the Middle East. The project showcases how India and the U.S., along with Israel and the UAE, can partner in developing joint economic projects through forums like the I2U2. The mega connectivity project has the potential to reduce political tensions in the Arabian Peninsula and serve as “Infrastructure for Peace” by promoting intra-regional connectivity, according to the U.S. The corridor signifies Europe’s active involvement in infrastructure development in the region. The European Union’s support for this initiative positions it as a major stakeholder in integrating India with both the Arabian Peninsula and Europe. The success of IMEC could lead to further strategic collaborations.
2024-03-31T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement##
