Psychologists are the backbone of the mental healthcare system of India. This study aimed to understand the impact of delivering psychotherapy for long durations on empathy, compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue. The data was collected using snowball and convenient sampling methods from 100 psychologists including males and females. The non parametric data obtained was analysed using Spearman’s rank order correlation and Brunner-Munzel test. The results suggested that compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue were influenced by years of experience but empathy was not significantly impacted by experience indicating the need for intervention at early stages of delivering therapy and emphasising on need for supervision and proper and effective training
Anubhuti Bansal, Anjali Sahai ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://qtanalytics.in/journals/index.php/VEETHIKA/article/view/3460 Sun, 19 May 2024 09:36:02 +0000 Unveiling Users Perspective https://qtanalytics.in/journals/index.php/VEETHIKA/article/view/3424
The public library is an abode of information and knowledge, committed to education, culture, and Library advocacy. Though public libraries are called “people’s University” and cater to varied categories of users and their infinite information needs without any discrimination but still in India many such libraries are still not providing effective services to the user community.

In India, out of 28 states, 19 states have already enacted library legislation with the latest entrant being Telangana State (2015) and though Haryana State enacted the Act in the year 1989 but still very few comprehensive studies conducted either by any public library or the users’(RRRLF). Well, the present study attempts to check out the ground reality of the State Central Library along with 2 District Libraries of the State of Haryana in terms of library collection, services, facilities, and user satisfaction.

A descriptive survey research design was employed, and 500 library users across three public libraries were surveyed using a structured questionnaire, out of which 396 responses(n=396) were found eligible for the analysis. The study found an improvement in the use of public libraries in the region but identified some inadequate facilities like lack of enhanced library services along with updated collection, and poor internet/ICT services as major factors affecting user satisfaction. The findings suggest that the Haryana government should increase funding to public libraries to acquire adequate information resources and ICT facilities, thereby increasing the utilization of public libraries and meeting the information needs of the users.
Vikash ., Manish Kumar ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://qtanalytics.in/journals/index.php/VEETHIKA/article/view/3424 Sun, 19 May 2024 08:56:54 +0000 Utilizing Geological and Geoelectrical methods in a GIS-based DRASTIC model of the Probable Groundwater Vulnerability in the Southern Nigerian Raffia Metropolis of Ikot Ekpene and its Surroundings https://qtanalytics.in/journals/index.php/VEETHIKA/article/view/3376
The city of Ikot Ekpene is facing a significant issue with groundwater contamination. This is due to the rising amount of home and industrial waste caused by the increasing human population and various business operations in the area. This study seeks to evaluate the susceptibility of groundwater in the metropolis of Ikot Ekpene and its surrounding areas in southern Nigeria. It will utilize integrated geoelectrical and geological approaches within the GIS-based DRASTIC model. A total of twenty vertical electrical soundings (VES) were conducted in the region using the Schlumberger array. Based on the geological drilling data, the interpretation of the VES data suggests that the area consists of 3-4 geoelectric layers. The lithological succession in the area exhibits a range of sediment types, including fine and coarse sand as well as gravelly sands. Additionally, there are localized occurrences of clay intercalations. The third geoelectric layer, located at a depth of 9.0–86.6 m, is the primary aquifer that can be utilized in the region. The DRASTIC model included seven environmental parameters, including depth to the water table, net recharge, aquifer medium, topography, impact of vadose zone, and hydraulic conductivity, with the purpose of conducting a vulnerability assessment. The assessment of groundwater vulnerability ratings (GVR) reveals that 75% of the research region is classified as high vulnerability, 20% as moderate vulnerability, and the remaining 5% as low vulnerability. The studied area is predominantly characterized by moderate to high Groundwater Vulnerability Rating (GVR), which is likely attributed to the generally gentle topography and the presence of highly permeable geomaterials in the upper levels of the water table.
Emem Okon Ikpe, Udeme U. Employing 32 market and macroeconomic variables as proxies for investor sentiment, we utilized principal component analysis to distill these variables into 11 principal components with eigenvalues exceeding 1, thus creating investor sentiment sub-indices. Utilizing the Auto-Regressive Distributive Lag method, we aimed to elucidate the impact of sentiment on portfolio returns.

Our findings reveal a significantly positive impact of sentiment on portfolio returns throughout the study period. These results hold valuable implications for various stakeholders in the Indian stock market, including retail investors, policymakers, and decisionmakers. Retail investors can leverage these findings as guidance for their decision-making processes, gaining insight into the relationship between sentiment and portfolio returns. Additionally, policymakers and decisionmakers can utilize these insights to inform market strategies and risk management practices.

By delving into the relationship between sentiment and portfolio returns in the Indian stock market, this study contributes significantly to the existing literature. It sheds light on a previously unexplored aspect of market dynamics, offering valuable insights for further research and practical applications in the realm of investor sentiment and market behavior.
Amit Rohilla, Varun Bhandari ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://qtanalytics.in/journals/index.php/VEETHIKA/article/view/3578 Fri, 14 Jun 2024 03:32:13 +0000
