Abstract

The cashew export sector plays a crucial role in the agricultural and economic landscapes of many countries, particularly those in tropical regions. This theoretical study aims to unpack the challenges and opportunities inherent in the cashew export sector, providing a comprehensive analysis informed by theoretical frameworks and empirical evidence. Drawing on a thorough literature review, conceptual framework development, theoretical analysis, case studies, and expert interviews, this study explores the complexities of the cashew industry, including supply chain management, market dynamics, quality standards, infrastructure constraints, and sustainability concerns. The findings highlight the multifaceted challenges faced by stakeholders, such as supply chain inefficiencies, market volatility, quality control issues, infrastructure limitations, and sustainability challenges. Despite these challenges, the study identifies significant opportunities for growth and development within the cashewexport sector, including market diversification, value addition, technology adoption, sustainable practices, and capacity building. Through a synthesis of theoretical insights and empirical evidence, this study offers recommendations and implications for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and researchers to address the identified challenges and capitalize on the opportunities within the cashew export sector, ultimately fostering its competitiveness, sustainability, and resilience in the global market.
