For the overall growth and development of our society, it is important to critically examine the integration of gender perspectives in public policy and development, with in depth focus on the inclusion of transgender individuals and the broader LGBTQIA+ community. This study unveils the significance of adopting a gender-sensitive approach to policy-making, which is crucial for nurturing an equitable and inclusive development. It emphasises on the issue of marginalization of transgender and LGBTQIA+ communities, which are often overlooked and misunderstood in mainstream public policy, leading to discrimination, social exclusion, and economic disparities. Through a comprehensive analysis, the study focuses on the intersectionality of gender with other social determinants such as class, race, and disability, emphasizing how these factors contribute to the challenges faced by transgender and LGBTQIA+ individuals. It aims to contribute to the ongoing discourse on gender and development, advocating, and expecting for a more inclusive and equitable future.
